The European Development Fund (EDF)

The OCTs remain the EDF beneficiaries, instrument dedicated to ACP countries for the 2014-2020 period.

 

For the 2007-13 period, the total amount of EU’s assistance to OCTs was F XPF 34.1 billion (286 million euros) :

 

  • F XPF 23.2 billion (195 million euros) for the specific programmes in the OCTs
  • F XPF 4.7 billion (40 million euros) for regional cooperation and integration
  • F XPF 3.5 billion (30 million euros) to finance the investment facility of the European Investment Bank for OCTs (in addition to the F XPF 3.5 billion loans on the Bank’s own capital).
  • F XPF 715.9 million (6 million euros) for technical assistance
  • F XPF 1.7 billion (15 million euros) for emergency assistance and performance (“reserve B”)

 

For that matter, Greenland, eligible for funding as part of  the general EU budget, was granted F XPF 2.9 billion (25 million euros) per year pursuant to the partnership agreement between EU, Denmark and Greenland.

 

For the 2014-2020 period, the total budget of the OCT EDF is F XPF 43.5 billion (364.5 million euros) :

 

  • F XPF 27.4 billion (229.5 million euros) for specific programmes
  • F XPF 11.9 billion (100 million euros) for regional cooperation and integration
  • F XPF 954.6 million (8 million euros) for technical assistance
  • F XPF 2.5 billion (21.5 million euros) for emergency assistance and performance (“reserve B”)
