Launched in schools last February, the drawing competition organized to celebrate 50 years of "La Francophonie" has progressed to a new stage. The jury composed of representatives from the Government and the Postal and Telecommunication Service (OPT-NC) has selected the winning entries which will be reproduced on a stamp, an envelope and a postcard.

At the start of the year, the Government of New Caledonia, in partnership with the OPT-NC invited New Caledonian students to express themselves through a drawing contest dedicated to "La Francophonie." The challenge was to come up with the drawing which will be reproduced on a stamp symbolizing correspondence and closeness to mirror "La Francophonie" which links more than 80 countries from all over the world.

On Monday 15 June, the jury gathered to examine 127 entries from 12 schools, including two primary schools. «We were not expecting such a wide participation and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the entries. It proves that young people are interested in "La Francophonie" declared Yoann Lecourieux, Minister for La Francophonie.
