Visit of the Secretary General of the Pacific Islands Forum Meg Taylor to the Government

Madam President of the Government of New Caledonia, Ms. Cynthia Ligeard and Ms. Dewé Gorodey in charge of Culture, Women affairs and Citizenship held discussions today (Feb 11th) with Dame Meg Taylor, Secretary General of the Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) on the occasion of the Council of Regional Organisations of the Pacific (CROP) meeting in Noumea.

Ms. Cristelle Prat, Deputy Secretary General and Ms. Anna Naupa, Regional and International Issues Adviser at Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat were also present.

This visit offered Ms. Cynthia Ligeard and Ms. Déwé Gorodey the opportunity to welcome the appointment of Dame Meg Taylor as Secretary General and to review the six last months of her term. It also was the occasion to exchange on the Forum’s priorities for 2015 as the next Forum’s summit will be held in Papua New Guinea this year.
