At the request of Adolphe Digoué , the Minister for Trade,  the members of the Export Support Council, a body tasked with facilitating dialogue and consultation between economic actors and New Caledonian institutions on issues relating to trade, met on Monday 2 May at Government Headquarters. The council had not met since January 2018.

The Alliance française in Christchurch inaugurated the largest
New Caledonia Area" in New Zealand, on Friday 25 March. This showcase should
participate in the promotion of New Caledonia, notably through its languages and cultures.

Private or public project leaders in the fields of environment and climate can apply for European funding under the LIFE program. Workshops are organized at the end of April by the Enviropea association to help prepare applications.

The current presidency of OCTA is held by New Caledonia, elected at the Ministerial Conference held virtually on December 8, 2020.

On Tuesday, March 29, New Caledonia participated in a videoconference on the European program "LIFE 2021-2027", organized by OCTA, in partnership with the association Enviropea. The environment and climate remain the preferred areas for partnerships with Europe.

Mickaël Forrest, the Minister in charge of monitoring New Caledonia's external relations in conjunction with the President of the Government, participated in a high-level meeting  between leaders of Pacific Island States and the American Secretary of State Antony Blinken, currently on a tour of the region.

The President of the Government Louis Mapou received the observation mission sent by the Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) for the referendum of December 12, 2021

A special ministerial meeting of the Association of the Overseas Countries and Territories (OCTA) associated with the European Union (EU), took place by video conference under the chairmanship of New Caledonia for the second time. The main objective of this high-level dialogue was to adopt the new OCTA strategy for the period 2021-2027.

New Caledonia is hosting the third  Round Table for a Cleaner Pacific, which is being held in person and by video conference from 16 to 25 November. On behalf of the 17th government, Joseph Manauté, overseeing the Environment, opened the discussions which bring together 26 countries and territories of the region.
